Main Aim:
Establish prerequisites for building up a pilot probation model in Pazardjik by:
• Making the legislature and the executive in the country more sensible to work with offenders in community and to drawing leading experts, magistrates and representatives of state institutions, local authorities and non-governmental organizations into building up probation model and lobbying for probation enforcement into penalty system in the country;
• Increase community awareness and changes in community tendencies regarding work with offenders in community;
• Set up strong partnership between local authorities, judicial power, institutions and non-governmental organizations on regional and national level;
Results Achieved
• Two training seminars for representatives of the court, prosecutor` office, prison, police, local authorities, non-governmental organization;
• Translation of 8 materials, provided by the Dutch Probation Service;
• Printed two books: “Judicial systems in Bulgaria and Holland”, and “How does the Dutch Probation System Work?”
