 729Crime Prevention Fund – IGA won a project “Sharing of experience of the local police in Europe” in partnership with the Institute for researching of policies in the sphere of criminal law, the King’s college – London (UK), the Giancarlo Siani Association, Naples (Italy), Valencia local police, Valencia (Spain) and the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior (associated partner). The project promotes the co-operation between the law-enforcing bodies in the member states of EU and more specifically the big system of municipal and local police offices by bringing them closer, facilitating the exchange of the information and increasing the transfer of good practices. In this way the prevention of crime and particularly the prevention of city crime will be affected.
The project will increase the effective practices in this direction and will reinforce their transfer by encouraging the respective professionals to share knowledge and experience. The research will be conducted in one of the best European research institutes in this sphere – the Institute for researching of policies in the sphere of criminal law, University of London. Intensive communication and contacts will encourage the local police in the member states of EU to draw practices which they consider good and effective. After assessing the principle “Which does work” representatives of the police will have the opportunity to present their good practices at 3 international seminars. The transfer of practices will focus on the preparation and the conduction of 3 local pilot projects, which will use the best of the researched models and will direct it to the local police offices in Bulgaria, Italy and Spain.
