At the end of the previous week a team of Fund IGA came back from a two-day international conference in Thessaloniki. Representatives of 6 countries took part in it – partners under the project “SafeLand”: Bulgaria, Greece, Great Britain, Poland, Romania, Spain and Italy. The conference completed a project which addresses the problems of crime prevention at a local and regional level in the partner-countries, focusing on the primary prevention: reducing the risk of committing a crime by taking measures for a general prevention, in particular, measures for preventing violence in schools; reducing the potential number of victims of crimes by measures for reducing the physical abilities to commit criminal acts; reducing the fear of crime by developing effective strategies for crime prevention.
Fund IGA presented the activity of the Centre for social rehabilitation and integration of children from risk groups in Plovdiv. IGA manages the Centre as a delegated state activity. The Strategy for crime prevention of the Municipality of Plovdiv, 2011-2015, which has been developed by experts from Fund IGA, was also presented.
