Program for perpetrators of domestic violence

Izv (1)The perpetrators of domestic violence have different degrees of education and intellectual capacities.

They don’t fall into a specific ethnic group, age, social or marital status. Although they commit violence with different methods, the factor that unites them is that they have committed violence against their spouse or another family member. A big number of them have committed other forms of aggression or violence in the past.

Within the project, each of all five perpetrators who has registered at the Bureau for consulting, directing, and assisting participates in a Specialized program for perpetrators of domestic violence. The goal of each Program session is to help them overcome the problem and aggression and replace their negative behavioral patterns with positive ones. The program is preceded by a Repeated victimisation risk assessment.

The number of perpetrators with whom the experts at Fund IGA work is to a big extent related with the closed cases at the district courts in the region and their redirection to the programs that Fund IGA offers.
