Fund IGA with a new project against domestic violence
Crime Prevention Fun - IGA starts with the implementation of project “Preventive programmes for domestic violence”, which is funded by the Ministry of Justice. The project will end in November this year.
Its main goal is to reduce the acts of domestic violence and the negative consequences on victims and society. The activities also aim to protect victims of domestic violence through reintegration and recovery; reduce acts of domestic violence through perpetrators’ participation in a Specialized programme; increase the competency of representatives of institutions for enforcing domestic violence protection measures; increase awareness on the problem “domestic violence” among youngsters and develop their skills for recognising and dealing with domestic violence.
This is the sixth project about domestic violence which Fund - IGA has implemented since 2009. So far the Bureau for consulting, directing, and assisting has helped over 300 victims. There have been over 130 psychological and 100 legal consultations, mediations with 24 family couples, and accommodation of 40 women at the Crisis Centre.
The project will end with a Round table in October when the results will be presented.
