Round table finalises project for domestic violence

Kr.masaRound table which finalised project “Preventive programmes for domestic violence” took place at the conference hall of Grand Hotel “Hebar”. It was attended by representatives of District and Regional court - Pazardzhik, District prosecutor’s office, General police directorate - Pazardzhik, Regional directorate “Social assistance” and Directorate “Social assistance” - Pazardzhik, the prison, Complex for social services for children and families – Pazardzhik, Regional administration, Crisis Centre for victims of domestic violence – Peshtera, Local commission against human trafficking, Bulgarian Red Cross, Municipal Administration - Lesichovo, Complex for social services for children and families, Centre for social rehabilitation and integration, city councillors, school principles, psychologists, and media.

During the Round table were presented the project results, the Analysis of the domestic violence situation in Pazardzhik region, the activities of the Bureau for consulting, directing, and assisting, and the Programme for developing skills for identifying and copying with violence at schools in Pazardzhik Region. During the second part of the forum the participants engaged in a discussion.

Programme for identifying and copying with domestic violence at schools in Pazardzhik Region

Obuch obraz DNTeam of Fund IGA held a training under Project "Preventive programmes for domestic violence”. It was aimed at the conduct of the Programme for developing skills for identifying and copying with violence at schools in Pazardzhik Region. Twelve people took part in the training, among whom directors, educational psychologists, psychologists, and teachers - representatives of schools from Pazardzhik Region.

The experts who had worked on the programme presented its goals, content, and characteristics, as well as the conclusions from its approbation. The Conduct of the Programme Guidance was introduced in detail to the participants as the goal of the training was to prepare them to train their colleagues in the respective municipality, which is a prerequisite for multiplying the programme in more places in Pazardzhik Municipality.

Project “Preventive programmes for domestic violence” is implemented by Crime prevention Fund - IGA under Contract for non-remunerated financial assistance made with the Ministry of Justice. The results of its full implementation will be presented next month during Round table with representatives of institutions and organisations


Information day in September

Info SeptThe last information day within Project “Preventive programmes for domestic violence” took place in the hall of the city council - September. Among the participants were representatives of Municipal administration, City council, Directorate Social assistance, Local commission against antisocial acts of juveniles and minors, schools, kindergartens, community centres, etc.

After the presentation about the project, the Programme for developing skills for identifying and dealing with domestic violence at schools, and the report of the Domestic violence situation analysis in Pazardzhik Region, the participants asked questions and the forum turned into a fruitful discussion.

With the three Information Days part of the current project and the previous Information Days under projects funded by the Ministry of Justice, the information campaign by Fund IGA has reached 9 municipalities. The results will be summarised at Round table in November where the implementation of the project will be discussed.

Information day in Kalugerovo

KalugerovoInformation Day about domestic violence took place in the hall of the Centre for social initiatives and innovations - Kalugerovo. Among the participants were representatives of Municipal administration - Lesichovo, Kalugerovo, social centres, community centres, schools, and kindergartens in the villages of Kalugerovo, Dinkata, and Shturkovo.

During the Information day the presenters talked about the project and its goals and activities, the Programme for developing skills for identifying and dealing with domestic violence at schools, and the report of the Domestic violence situation analysis in Pazardzhik Region: situation, characteristics, specific problems, and interaction between institutions.

This is the second Information Day within Project “Preventive programmes for domestic violence” which is implemented under Contract for non-remunerated financial assistance made with the Ministry of Justice.

 
 

Information Day under project "Preventive programmes for domestic violence"

Info BatakCrime Prevention Fund - IGA implements Project “Preventive programmes for domestic violence” since May. There are three Information Days to be held at the municipal centres in the region where there has been no information campaign yet. Fund IGA has been working on combating domestic violence for 10 years. Such campaigns have already been conducted in Pazardzhik, Peshtera, Panagyurishte, Belovo, Strelcha, and Velingrad. With the present project, the campaign widens its scope with the municipalities of Batak, Lesichovo, and Septemvri.

The first Information Day took place on 10 September in the hall of the town council - Batak. Among the participants were representatives of municipal administration, town council, institutions, community centres, schools, civic orgnizations, clubs, and citizens.

The event was held in cooperation with Batak Municipality.

Training seminar for institution representatives under project for domestic violence

02 07 18Training seminar under Project “Preventive programmes for domestic violence” took place in the conference hall of hotel Elbrus, Velingrad.

The seminar was attended by representatives of District and Regional court - Pazardzhik, District prosecutor’s office, General police directorate - Pazardzhik, Regional directorate “Social assistance” and Directorate “Social assistance” - Pazardzhik, Complex for social services for children and families - Pazardzhik, Correctional boarding school - Rakitovo, and others. The team from Fund IGA also took part in the activities. The team works with victims of domestic violence.

The project manager presented the goals and activities of the project. Valentina Gesheva, the expert in social activities, presented the work at the Bureau for consulting, directing, and assisting.

The main lecturer at the seminar was associate professor Vladimir Velonov who presented the following topics: Domestic violence - similarities and differences with psychopathologies, Criminological aspects of aggression, Behaviour in intimate marital relations. The lectures and presentations were alternated with case studies, practical activities, and discussions.

The participants took an active part in the discussions and shared their experience, particular cases, and interesting ideas for cooperation in the future. They will meet together at the end of the project when they will share their impressions from the project implementation and the overall development of the domestic violence problem.

Fund IGA with a new project against domestic violence

Crime Prevention Fun - IGA starts with the implementation of project “Preventive programmes for domestic violence”, which is funded by the Ministry of Justice. The project will end in November this year.
Its main goal is to reduce the acts of domestic violence and the negative consequences on victims and society. The activities also aim to protect victims of domestic violence through reintegration and recovery; reduce acts of domestic violence through perpetrators’ participation in a Specialized programme; increase the competency of representatives of institutions for enforcing domestic violence protection measures; increase awareness on the problem “domestic violence” among youngsters and develop their skills for recognising and dealing with domestic violence.
This is the sixth project about domestic violence which Fund - IGA has implemented since 2009. So far the Bureau for consulting, directing, and assisting has helped over 300 victims. There have been over 130 psychological and 100 legal consultations, mediations with 24 family couples, and accommodation of 40 women at the Crisis Centre.
The project will end with a Round table in October when the results will be presented.
