Проектът цели да отговори на въпроса „Какво работи за намаляване на рецидивизма в Европейския съюз?” Към настоящия момент липсва общо европейско разбиране за това кои интервенции са най-ефективни по отношение на правонарушителите и рисковите групи. Редица фактори са причина за този проблем:
- Липсата на систематизиран европейски набор от доказани в практиката интервенции, прилагани в страни-членки на ЕС, дори когато такива позитивни добри практики са налице в дадени страни.
- Липсата на обща европейска статистика или методологична рамка, която да позволява оценка и сравняване, а в някои страни - липсата на инструменти за събиране на информация и оценяване.
- Липса на разбиране за възможностите за трансфер на практики между страните членки на ЕС, по-специално „старите” членки и тези от Централна и Източна Европа.
- Липса на платформа за дебат, разработване и разпространение на обещаващи практики.

IGA Representative participated in a conference by the invitation of the EC and the European Organisation for Probation

IGA presents in Cambridge (UK)
At the end of April, “Fund for Crime Prevention – IGA” participated in the European conference “What is working for recidivism reduction”, which took place in Cambridge (UK). The conference was part from project “STARR – strengthening international approach towards recidivism reduction”, in which IGA is a partner and event’s co-organizer together with European Organization for Probation (CEP) and the International Department of the British Ministry of Justice.

IGA started the year with two new projects
Fund - IGA works on two new projects by late last and early this year. The first, “ENTER-2 - Development of models for social inclusion of former prisoners”, is financed by the Operational Program "Human Resources Development" 2007-2013, Component 1. Support the development of existing social enterprises to increase the range and diversity of the provided services. The project will allow one of the most marginalized social groups - those who have served their punishment "imprisonment", to acquire new knowledge and skills through practice for lifelong learning, which will improve their chances for professional realization on the actual labour market.
