Place of implementation: Pazardzhik Region and Plovdiv Region

Period of implementation: 3 months

Funding source: Ministry of Youth and Sports, National programme for youth affairs under article 10a from the Law of gambling 2017

Main goal of the project:

The main goal of the project is to build civic engagement and conduct efficient prevention of the topical forms of addictions and increasing aggression among youngsters by improving the quality of life and the social environment of 120 young people from all target groups of the programme, who live at the territory of Pazardzhik Region and Plovdiv Region. The goal of the project corresponds to the goal of the National programme for youth affairs under article 10a from the Law of gambling 2017.

Specific aims of the project:

- Developing the practical skills of the participants in the project to recognize the risk factors leading to different types of addictions and the different types of aggressive behavior;

- Developing the participants’ skills to apply methods for dealing with a hostile and risk environment;

- Stimulating the youngsters’ resourcefulness, creativity, and performance through attractive and original forms of participation;

- Developing habits for a healthy and physically active lifestyle in the youngsters as a model for prevention of different forms of aggression and addictions.

Target groups:

One hundred and twenty youngsters from all target groups of the programme from Pazardzhik Region and Plovdiv Region:

- Children: who have turned 15 – who will be 18 soon – 30 children altogether;

- Youngsters: who have turned 18 – who will be 21 soon – 30 youngsters altogether;

- Youngsters: who have turned 21 – who will be 24 soon – 30 youngsters altogether;

- Youngsters: who have turned 24 – who have turned 29 – 30 youngsters altogether.

Activities:

1. Identifying representatives of the target groups and including them in the project

2. Organizing and conducting:

- Four discussion forums with 40 participants altogether for testing the proposed activities;

- Trainings within 2 programmes for prevention of addictions - (Blackjack, alcohol, and cocaine) and aggressive behavior (street fights) for 120 children and youngsters: 4 groups with 15 participants in Pazardzhik, and 4 groups with 15 participants in Plovdiv. Two programmes, designed by the team of Fund – IGA, will be used. They will be adapted on the basis of the analysis of the conducted discussion forums: Programme for prevention of aggression (street fights) and Programme for prevention of addictions (Blackjack, alcohol, and cocaine);

- Two outside trainings “Team Jundola” and “Alternative summer” with 40 participants altogether. The first training will be conducted under the guidance of the actress Maya Bezhanska, and the second one – under the guidance of the experienced mountaineer and guide of extreme expeditions Genadi Matveev;

- Conducting a public event for presenting and popularizing the results of the project.
