Goals:

The main goal of the project is to assist Roma children from the Sofia capital region „Vazrazhdane” to become citizens of full value and to achieve succesful social and professional realization in society.

Specific aims:
-         To identify and motivate Roma children and families to participate in the educational process;

-         To improve the children’s educational integration through activities for compensating gaps in their education and through additional classes in Bulgarian language;
-         To overcome the negative societal attitudes towards the Roma ethnic group through joint intercultural activities and intitiatives, an information campaign among the parents and the local community, and promoting the cultural identity of the Roma ethnic group.

Activities:
Activity 1: Organization and management;
Activity 2: Conduction of surveys for the needs of the project;
Activity 3: Development and functioning of a sustainable mechanism for mediation among the students, the parents, and the school;
Activity 4: Improvement of the educational environment at 67th primary school;
Activity 5: Activities with students from the ethnic minorities at 67th primary school for enhancing their capacity and their opportunities for socialization and for receiving quality education;
Activity 6: Work with parents no matter their ethnic origin;
Activity 7: Reintegration in the educational system of young people under 18, who have dropped out of school.
Activity 8: Overcoming negative societal attitudes based on ethnic origin and cultural identity;
Activity 9: Preserving and developing the cultural identity of the students from the ethnic minorities and their peers in an integrating and multicultural environment;
Activity 10: Informing and publicity.
