The main objective of the project is to increase the capacity staff in places of deprivation of liberty for the implementation of specialized programs for rehabilitation.

Specific objectives:

1. To assess the training needs of prison officers to implement specialized re-socialization programs for people with mental health problems and people with low intellectual level

2. To develop two specialized programs for prisoners with mental health problems and people with low intellectual level.

3. To develop training programs for prison staff to implement specialized re-socialization programs for people with mental health problems and people with low intellectual level.

4. To train trainers and staff in prison to apply specialized re-socialization programs for people with mental health problems and people with low intellectual level

Target group: Employees of all prisons in Bulgaria - a total of 50 people. Representatives of the target group are mainly social activities/ rehabilitation inspectors, psychologists and psychiatrists. The group will include a number of prison guards.

Activities:
Activity 1: "Study of the training needs of prison staff for application of specialized re-socialization programs for people with mental health problems and people with low intellectual level";
Activity 2: "Analysis and evaluation of staff training programs implemented and the programs used for people with mental health problems and people with low intellectual level";
Activity 3: "Development of two programs for prisoners with mental health problems and people with low intellectual level";
Activity 4: "Development of training programs for employees to apply specialized re-socialization programs for people with mental health problems and people with low intellectual level" ;
Activity 5: "Training of Trainers";
Activity 6: "Training of employees to implement specialized programs";
Activity 7: "Evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs and supervision of trainers and trainees”;
Activity 8: "Plan information and publicity of the project";

The project will end with a final conference that will present the main products of the project – „Increased the capacity staff in places of deprivation of liberty for the implementation of specialized programs for rehabilitation”.
