Short Summary:

The main objective of the project is to improve the practical skills and knowledge of the probation officers in Bulgaria according to the best European standards.

The project has set the following specific objectives:

-          To study the existing system for education of probation services staff in the country;

-          To create a model for the training of probation officers in accordance with the best European standards;

-          To improve through a series of trainings the capacity of probation officers in the country.

Target group of the project are employees of the probation services.

Activities :

Activity 1: "Assessment of the training needs of probation officers'

Activity 2: "Review and assessment of existing training programs for probation officers in DG "IN";

Activity 3: "Development of curricula for initial and continuing training of probation officers in accordance with the European standards";

Activity 4: "Training of trainers for the implementation of the training programs";

Activity 5: "Piloting the programs for initial and continuing training";

Activity 6: "Evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs and supervision of the trainers"

Activity 7: "Plan for information and publicity of the project"
 
The project will end with a final conference that will present the main products of the project - Updated and developed curricula for initial and continuing training of probation in accordance with the European standards.
