During the implementation of the activities in the social service good professional relations have been developed with the following institutions:
- Plovdiv Municipality – dealing with administrative issues, public problems, and housing;
- Directorate “Social Assistance” – using the social service and applying for social assistance;
- Directorate “Labour Bureau” – consulting and giving information for the opportunities for a professional realization:
- Home for children deprived of parental care “Rada Kirkovich” (HCDPC), HCDPC “Olga Skobeleva”, and HCDPC “Knyaginya Maria Louisa” – directing the applicant-users how to use the social service;
- Educational institutions on the territory of Plovdiv – continuing of the education;
- Companies: Orient 99 Ltd, Sinergon Hotels Ltd, Aqua Tour Ltd, etc.
 
Beneficiaries: Youths, who use the social service “Monitored Care Unit – Plovdiv”
 
Goal of the project:
To ensure a sustainable professional realization for the six youths from Monitored Care Unit -Plovdiv.
 
Subgoals:
- to motivate the youths to acquire a professional qualification and a sustainable professional realization, and to orient them;
- to make the youths receive a professional qualification, which is in line with the present labour market needs;
- to form in the youths skills for a self-dependent life;
- to ensure an adequate assistance to the youths in the process of searching for a job and keeping it.

Doors Open Day in Plovdiv

DOV 03.04.2014“Doors Open Day “was held on April 3rd in the building of CSRI – Monitored Care Unit – Plovdiv. The event was conducted under Project “My New Profession”, Funding Contract since 26 November 2013, within Fund “Start Up – support for young people at a disadvantage for work realization, which has been implemented by Crime Prevention Fund – IGA.

The aim of the project is to ensure lasting benefits for the target group – 6 young people, accommodated in Monitored Care Unit – Plovdiv, who have received professional qualification, part of the profession “Waiter-bartender”, during the implementation of the project.

Representatives of Plovdiv Municipality, Directorate “Social Assistance”, Homes for Children Deprived of Parental Care, Public Support Centres, the Centre for Social Rehabilitation and Integration of Children from Risk Groups, business representatives, etc., took part in the event. It introduced the activities and the achieved results of the project to the interested institutions, firms, and the public.



Six youths, who have left a social institution, have an opportunity for a qualification and work under a project


Picture 43506.01.2014The project “My New Profession” is designated for youths at the age 18-22, who are accommodated in the social service “Monitored Care Unit” in Plovdiv. The service has been managed by Crime Prevention Fund –IGA as a state delegated activity. In these units the youths, who have just left homes for children deprived of parental care, receive assistance in their transition from a life in an institution to a self-dependent life, in which they deal with the everyday activities, education, and budgeting.

The goal of the project is the six youths to receive a professional qualification and, consequently, a job. They will be included in a series of trainings for forming working skills and behaviour approaches in this process, as well as for preparing job application documents. They will also go through a training for becoming “waiter-bartender”. The total number of classes for a training is 324 hours, divided as follows: theory - 152 and practice – 172. The participants will acquire knowledge and skills regarding the organization of work, the organization of their rights and duties in the working process, the rules of teamwork, the normative requirements of the position, and the necessary professional competencies. They will be introduced to the organization of serving in the restaurants, the technology for serving meals and drinks, and the peculiarities of the national cuisines. Three employers and managers of restaurants in Plovdiv have agreed to sign a contract for a possible consequent employment of IMGP3525 06.01.2014part of the youths, after they go through a probation period of traineeship.

One of the youths, who is a participant in the project, said: “Now everything depends on us, you have to give in order to receive. A period of traineeship and of mastering the knowledge is necessary. You have to go deep into the profession, to learn all its subtleties, there have to be visible results from your work. Only then you will start receiving.”

Project “My New Profession” has a six-month duration. Crime Prevention Fund – IGA won a funding under the project from Fund “Start Up – assistance for work realization of disadvantaged youths” of Foundation “Assistance for the charity in Bulgaria”, which has been gathered by donations from the members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
