Premiere of a theatrical play of CSRICRG – Plovdiv
On 10 December (Tuesday) at 04:00 pm the premiere of the theatrical play “The Machine of Happiness” took place in the National Secondary School of Theatre and Film Arts (NSSTFA). The participants in the play were mostly children – clients of the Centre for Social Rehabilitation and Integration for Children from Risk Groups (CSRICRG) – Plovdiv.
It has been 4 years since the educational-correctional work with the clients of the Centre went hand in hand with the implementation of a series of activities related to art. The preparation and the conduct of the play are part of a group programme of CSRICRG. The theatrical play “The Machine of Happiness” used motifs of Ray Bradbury’s novel “Dandelion Wine”. The goal of the children’s inclusion in creative activities is to prevent them from asocial behaviour as well as to reduce the number of antisocial acts perpetrated by juveniles and minors. During the process of preparation the children - clients of the Centre, were actively supported by a theatrical producer and students from NSSTFA.
Representatives of Plovdiv Municipality, State Agency “Child Protection”, Department for Child Protection, Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, Regional Service “Execution of Punishments”, Directorate “Social Assistance”, Homes for children deprived of parental care, and schools, as well as the parents of the little actors were among the guests at the play.
