Police officers, local authorities and organizations from 18 countries – in a final conference under IGA’s project
Crime Prevention Fund – IGA organized Final conference under project “Sharing experience of the local police in Europe” on 1st and 2nd October. The forum took place in hotel “Holiday Inn” – Sofia. The Deputy Minister of Interior – Plamen Angelov and more than 60 police officers, local authorities and organizations from 18 countries, among which UK, Italy, Spain, Austria, Denmark, Poland, etc. took part in the forum.
The results from the research of the activity of the local police in Europe and 24 selected good practices were presented in the conference.
The project has been implemented since 2011 by Fund – IGA in partnership with Criminal Law Policies Research Institute; Royal College – London; Association “Giancarlo Siani” – Naples, Italy; Valencian local police – Valencia; Spain and the Ministry of Interior, Bulgaria (as an associated partner). The goal of the project is to stimulate cooperation among the security agencies in the member states of the EU and especially in the big network of municipal and local police offices by bringing them together, facilitating the exchange of information and stimulating the transfer of good practices. In this way there will be effect on the prevention of crime and especially – on the prevention of urban crime.
