Obuch uchiteli 2 2 29.08.13The second training under the Project “Portal – support for professional realization” of teachers, school counselors and directors from the Vocational secondary school of clothing and from schools partners (primary and secondary) for work with drop-outs took place from 24 August to 25 August in Velingrad. The seminar is a continuation of the introductory training module under the project and it is directed to integration of the participants’ acquired experience during the implementation of the project activities and to the mastering of knowledge and skills in the work with adolescents, who have dropped out of school and of their families.

Obuch uchiteli 2 1 29.08.13One of the goals of the training was for the participants to share their experience in the application of different mechanisms for motivation of drop-outs by discussing specific cases in their practice. Another goal was to increase the participants’ knowledge in the field of adolescent psychology and to improve their skills in the work with adolescents, who have dropped out of school, by motivating them to go back to school. The training was also aimed at developing effective strategies for communication and cooperation with the parents of children and adolescents from the Roma community, who are at risk of dropping out from school or who have deviated behaviour.

Obuch uchiteli 2 3 29.08.13The programme included lectures, talks and discussions. The participants took an active part in the work in groups, in the discussion of specific cases and in the incorporation of situations under simulation.

The lectures that raised particular interest were “Adolescent psychology – phases of adolescence, crisis and transformations of the process: anxiety, blockage, and depression”, “Adolescent psychology – aggression and deviated behaviour of the adolescent”, “Parents’ reactions – feeling of guilt, intrusion, friendship, punishments and turning to the third person”, “Family as a partner in school – mechanisms for motivating the parents”, “Communication and cooperation of the school with the institutions”.
