2 semThe second training seminar under Project “Bulgarian-German platform for innovative policies and decisions in the social inclusion of offenders” was conducted in Velingrad from June 10 to 14. The training was part of the four-module Programme for adopting the model HIS on a regional and national level. The second module has been implemented in two stages. The first one finished in May with a training, in which representatives from 6 municipalities took part. The second training was conducted under the same programme but with different participants – representatives from NGOs and municipalities, who have worked or have the capacity to work with offenders. As the training programme under this module finishes 30 people from all parts of Bulgaria have already been trained to adopt the model HSI (“Haftvermeidung durch soziale Integration”), which was launched in Germany.

After the end of this training module 10 executive specialists were chosen among the participants and they will implement the training practice under Module 4 from the Programme for adopting the model HSI – applying different elements from the work with offenders : testing the adopted variant of the model HSI. These executive specialists will take part in the training visit in Germany at the beginning of July.

The project has been implemented in partnership with the German organization xit GmbH (consulting company coordinating a network of organizations and institutions in the social, educational, and healthcare sphere) and with Crime Prevention Fund – IGA. Its main goal is to improve the quality of life of the people in Bulgaria by creating a platform between Germany and Bulgaria for mutual projects for enhancing the social inclusion of offenders.
