At the end of last year Crime Prevention Fund – IGA started the implementation of Project “Delivering services and support in the field of prevention and protection from domestic abuse under article 6, paragraph 7 from the Law for protection against domestic abuse (LPDA).” The project is financed by the Ministry of Justice and it will continue until December this year. Its territorial scope is Pazardzhik Municipality. The aim of the project is to deliver psychological, social, and legal support for victims of domestic abuse and rehabilitation services for domestic abuse offenders.

A Bureau for consultation, direction and support of victims of domestic abuse has already started functioning in the organization. The Bureau works together with a team of experts from “Crisis Centre – Peshtera”. The Bureau delivers specialized social and psychological support and legal consultation and it also directs children, people, and victims of violence and trafficking to the “Crisis Centre – Peshtera”. Crisis interventions for victims of violence (children and women) are applied together with the team of the centre. A special behaviour programme will be conducted for the women. Its aim is to teach the pragmatic behaviour models of dealing with violence, protecting of children, ensuring a protective environment, etc. Mediation in the form of a psychological consultation of family couples will be applied too.

For the 4 months in which the Bureau for consultation, direction and support has been working, 30 people have used its services.
