From 14^th to 16^th of May in Vilnius, Lithuania was organized an international final conference with the participation of leading experts in the field of Framework Decision (FD) 2008/947/JHA – transferring probation sentences between EU Member-States. IGA representative also attended the event. The organization was represented there as an Associate partner within the project “ISTEP – implementation support for probation sentences transfer”.

The majority of Member-States (MS) were present at this conference, including delegates from ministries, probation services, courts, prosecutor’s offices, universities, state agencies and NGO’s.

The agenda of the conference included several presentations on topics such as: “Opportunities and obstacles in the implementation of FD 947”, “ How would the results from ISTEP project be of assistance for the FD 947 transfers among the MS”. Discussion groups were formed later to comment on the relation between FD 947 and FD 2008/909/JHA – examples for implementation, challenges; case management and handling; EU regulations on Probation and those on Prisons in the context of FD’s; victims and human rights in relation to FD’s and others.
