IGA works again on project related to domestic violence prevention
Fund IGA started the project: “Provision of services and support in the area of domestic violence protection and prevention according to Art. 6 Par.7 of the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence. The project started in the late 2012 and will continue until December 3rd 2013.
From 24th to 26th February in hotel “Elbrus”-Velingrad was organized within the project a training seminar for experts and representatives from the relevant institutions in the application of this particular law. There were representatives from Regional and District Courts -Pazardjik, Regional Court- Velingrad, District prosecutor’s office – Pazardjik, District police office, Regional police office-Pazardjik and others.
The goal of this seminar was to raise the awareness of experts and professionals towards the issue of domestic violence, the way of practical implementation of the measures planned in the LPDV, the nature of social work and the psychological support for victims and perpetrators of domestic violence and also to revise the existing practice so far regarding the functioning of the coordination mechanism for the implementation of LPDV on Pazardjik territory. During the program of the seminar was presented the specifics in the work with victims of domestic violence trough the practice of the Crisis Center in Peshtera.
In the already existing social service – “CSRI” – IGA now operates a Consultations Burreau for counseling, directing and support of such victims; that will also provide specialized social, psychological and legal counseling and referrals will also be made to the Center for children and persons –victims of violence and trafficking – Peshtera.
