First presentation of the Center for social rehabilitation and integration for offenders (CSRIO)
(December 4th ) Today from 11a.m., in Pazarzhik at the BTA(Bulgarian telegraph agency) press-club was organized a round table to disseminate and report the activities and results from the work of the CSRIO and the establishment of a coordination mechanism to work with the target group.The CSRI for offenders operates from 01.07.2012 as a state delegated social service managed by municipal authorities with a contract agreement issued by the Social assistance agency (SAA), but from 01.09.2012 it has been assigned with a contract with the municipality to Crime Prevention Fund “IGA”. The main target groups involve: persons released from custody; persons with conditional sentences; persons on probation. The capacity is 20 clients.
Goals of the social service include psycho-social and motivational support towards positive change of the attitudes and behaviour of the members of the target group and to prevent re-offending by implementation of a full spectrum of medical-consultative advisory.
At the round table was also MP Mrs. Ginche Karaminova , directors from Fund –IGA , managers from the CSRIO and institutions’ representatives.
