A representative from Fund IGA attended a research experts’ meeting within the project “SPORE – Professional support for probation officers in Europe” held on June 28-29 in Riga, Latvia.

The event was hosted by the State probation service of Latvia. The topics of the meeting included: a demographic and psychometric survey of probation officers in Europe, working conditions, the stress levels at work and its causes and also the participants discussed other negative factors influencing motivation and performance of probation officers.

State probation service of Latvia was the host. Other participants and partner organizations and institutions are State probation service of Estonia, European Probation Network CEP, IGA Fund, University of Applied Sciences “ Avans ” in Breda – Holland , University of York.

This project is funded by the European commission – “Criminal Justice” program 2007-2013 and will continue until the end of the year.
