“No” to drugs” - session in Patalenitsa
Health-training session on “No to drugs” theme was held in Patalenitsa by the young members of the “Peer education club”. The club is successful in Pazardzhik region and is in its fourth year under Component 7 of the “Prevention of HIV/AIDS” Programme by the Ministry of Health (MH).
The session aimed at participants to get informed about drug use and the consequences entailed, by learning to recognize types of risky behavior and to clarify their attitude towards drug use. They learned to describe different types of drugs depending on the effects and the main consequences of their use. Also made connection between drug use and ways to get HIV infections.
Some participants shared honestly that they ’d seen their friends use drugs. The conversation was useful for both sides. Participants showed good competence on the issue and were very active as they shared opinions, concerns and attitudes
