Project ”Equal Opportunities – Worthy Life”

Leading organization: Crime Prevention Fund - IGA

Funding organization: European Social Fund 2007 – 2013; Operative Programme “ Development of Human Resources”
Partner: Regional Library “Nikola Furnadzhiev”, Pazardzhik
General goal: To ensure a worthy life and guarantee sufficient independence of deserted old people aged above 65 years by providing cares in domestic surroundings – services “social assistant” and “home assistant”.
Expected results/outcomes:
16 deserted and old people will be provided with the service “home assistant” and “social assistant”;
8 people trained to provide the service “home assistant” and “social assistant”;
New job positions for 4 home assistants and 4 social assistants in the sector of social services;
Informational leaflet published in 500 copies.

 Open Doors Day at IGA

507aAn Open Doors Day within project “Equal Opportunities – Dignity in Life” was carried out today at the office of IGA in Pazardjik. Part of the social assistants, who delivered the social service, took part in the event, along with beneficiaries, representatives of the social services in the city, the municipal administration, media and citizens.
The event aimed to close the project, to present the results from the survey conducted and to raise awareness about the services “Social Assistant” and “Domestic Assistant”.
The Open Doors Day continued during the whole day, accepting any interested citizens.
The project was implemented by IGA with the financial support of Operative Program “Human Resources Development”, co-funded by the EU as part of the European Social Fund.

 Services for the seniors  

16 seniors from Pazardjik already received the services “social assistant” and “home helpmate” in the frames of project “Equal possibilities – honorable life” of Fund - IGA. The most of the beneficiaries are over 75 years old and the women prevail. 4 home helpmates and 4 social assistants who have passed the necessary training are serving them.
The regional library “Nikola Furnadjiev” – Fund - IGA’s partner in the project has prepared an inquiry, to study the interest of the senior readers, beneficiaries of the services at the moment. As a result of the study, books will be bought and the library will start servicing the seniors at their homes.
The social services will last 10 mounts in the frames of the project. Supervisions and monitoring of the services are foreseen by the team of the project. Once in a month specialized teams will inspect the quality of the delivered services and the level of satisfaction of the beneficiaries.Services for the seniors

 Two projects supporting the solitary adults 

474Yesterday in the National press club of BTA in Pazardjik were presented two new social projects which will be implemented on the territory of Pazardjik Municipality – in town of Pazardjik and in the villages Zvanichevo and Bratanitsa. These are Project “Equal opportunities – worthy life” of Crime Prevention Fund – IGA in partnership with Regional library “Nikola Furnadjiev” – Pazardjik and Project “Social assistant and home assistant in service of the adults” of the “Training and Services Center” in partnership with Community center “Zvezda”, Zvanichevo.
The project proposals are supported in the frame of Operational programme “Human resources development” which is co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund.
The projects were presented from Valentina Gesheva – manager of the Center for Social Services at Fund – IGA, the chairpersons of the two organizations Marina Manolcheva and Dimitar Rusinov and representatives of the partners Elena Margova-Stoeva – temporary in charge Director of RL “Nikola Furnadjiev” and Sultana Stoytcheva – Secretary of Community center “Zvezda” – Zvanichevo.
