Teachers are learns to lead preventive program against the drugs and the violence

On the 10th and 11th of November in 47th High school “Hristo G. Danov” - Sofia a training of group of teachers as a preparation for the implementing of the preventive program “To prevent ourselves from drugs and violence” among pupils from III and VII grades was carried out. The group included 10 participants who showed high motivation and interest for participation in the preventive program.
The aims of the training are directed generally towards introducing and forming of teaching skills in accordance to the program methodology - enriching the knowledge of drugs abuse, the reasons for the abuse, identifying drug abusing people. The teachers must study their own attitude towards drug abuse as well as their motivation for participation as trainers in the program. During the training the teachers were acquainted with different approaches of teaching and leading group discussion. The main part of the program includes five main themes: “Attention - drugs!”; “Why the children use/ don’t use drugs - factors and preconditions”; “Assertive behavior - self-confidence, stress and guiltiness”; “Decision making and solving problems”; “Approaches and methods of teaching”.
