“Improving inter-agency collaboration between government institutions, local government, judiciary system and civil society for introducing European standards for prevention of juvenile delinquency”
The project will contribute towards reform of the system for prevention of juvenile delinquency in Bulgaria
Objectives:
1. To increase the capacity of institutions and structures dealing with juvenile delinquency
2. To improve the inter-agency collaboration and establish effective regional models for prevention of juvenile delinquency.
3. To popularize the European Standards relevant to juvenile delinquency.
Expected Impact
- An increase of the capacity of Bulgarian institutions and structures dealing with juvenile delinquency issues;
- An increase of skills acquired by officials working in structures for prevention of juvenile delinquency in Bulgaria
- Close co-operation between government, local government and local institutions in the area of juvenile delinquency
Expected Outputs
- Increased capacity of Central Commission for Prevention of juvenile Delinquency – 20 trained trainers – permanent and temporary lecturers
- 10 training seminars carried out
- 200 trained members of local commissions for prevention of juvenile delinquency – policemen, magistrates, representatives of local government; 100 trained representatives of local agencies, institutions and non-government organizations
- Established inter-agency model for prevention of juvenile delinquency in 10 regions of Bulgaria
Background and Main Activities
The project builds up the experience gained by IGA in the field of regional probation introduction (projects funded by British Council, Sofia and Department for International Development, as well as a joint project of PRI and IGA funded by GOF). The project is developed and is to be implemented in conformity with the National Strategy and the Action Plan for Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency (adopted in 2004 by the Council of Ministers), the special legislation in this field; and the activities of the Central Commission for Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency.The target audience of the project includes representatives of local government, policemen, magistrates, local institutions and non-government organizations
The project activities include:
training of trainers carried out by English experts;
10 training seminars carried out in 10 regions of the country;
