Training in the Social center of IGA

On 28th and 29th of January in the Center of social services, who works to Crime Prevention Fund – IGA, Pazardjik was carried out training seminar on themе „Social work whit offenders and their families”. The team of social workers was introduced whit cognitive – conducting program “My new skills”, whose aim is providing towards forming of practice psycho – social skills for permission of problems, about communications whit the others and skills for taking a decisions. Its purpose for offenders whit middle level of intellect. The training was carried out in the frames of project “Daily center for probation service”, who was realized whit the financial support of Union Dutch Foundations.

The Day Social Center adopted its Regulations

On September 3rd the day Social Center at Regional Fund – IGA adopted Regulations for its activity. All social workers participated in the event together with the leaders of the organization Marina Manolcheva and Dimitar Rusinov and the supervisor of the Center’s social workers team. The participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the working procedures, the types of clients and the rules for the work of the Center. On September 4th a personal interview was held with each of the social workers with the purpose to determine his/her expectations for professional realization.

Theo Seldenrust and Maria Petkova fromTulip Foundation – special guests of IGA

Satisfaction of the achieved results expressed Mr. Theo Seldenrust – member of the Board of managers of Tulip Foundation and the director of the Foundation Maria Petkova. In the special speech before the opening of the Center for social services Mr. Theo Seldenrust remembered the long years common work of the United Dutch Foundation with Regional Fund – IGA and gratification of the achieved results within the last project “Daily Center for Probation Services – providing of specialized social services of offender in society”.

IGA opens a Center for Social Services

On 19th July in Regional Fund – IGA it was officially opened a Center for social services. The project “Daily Center for Probation Services – providing of specialized social services of offender in society” is implemented with the financial support of United Dutch Foundations for Central and Eastern Europe represented in Bulgaria from Tulip Foundation. Ivan Evstatiev – mayor of Pazardjik Municipality and Theo Seldenrust, member of the Board of managers of Tulip Foundation opened officially the new social acquisition. The Chairman of the Municipal Council Todor Popov congratulated IGA and the Regional Governor Ivan Dimitrov sent a congratulatory letter. To the event took part Maria Petkova – Director of Tulip Foundation, Mileti Oresharski – director of the prison in Bobov dol, Veselin Kotzev – director of prison in Pazardjik, Katya Yaneva – director of the Labor Office Pazardjik, Pani Lukov – director Children Pedagogic Office to the police, Dimitria Tzerova – director of the Child Protection Department, members of the Coalition “Civil activity against corruption”, many journalists, social workers and citizens.

Education of social workers from the Bobov Dol Prison

Social workers from the Bobov Dol Prison were trained together with social workers from Regional Fund - IGA on June 10th and 11th in Pazardjik. The training is a part of the IGA project “Daily probation center for services” and is being financed by the United Dutch Foundations for Central and Eastern Europe. The training is aimed at implementation of two of the project’s programs - “Motivation towards employment” and “My new skills”.

Training consultants within a probation services project

On May 21st and 22nd in the hall of the Industrial Economic Association - Pazardjik was conducted training of consultants who will deliver social services to juveniles with deviant behavior. 10 people participated - psychologists, pedagogues and social workers. On April 9th 2005 after an interview, 9 of them were selected for the program. In September after completing their training they will start their specific work. This training is part of the project “Day center for probation services”, which is being financed by the United Dutch Foundations for Central and Eastern Europe.
