Young man from Monitored Care Unit – Plovdiv had his prom with the president |
Mitko Ognyanov, who is a school leaver from Monitored Care Unit – Plovdiv, successfully graduated this year and was invited to a prom ceremony at Boyana Residence under the patronage of the president of the Republic of Bulgaria - Rosen Plevneliev. The administration of the president organized an unforgettable day for more than 200 disadvantaged young people from the whole country. They had the opportunity to visit the National Historical Museum and to spend a fresh afternoon among the beautiful gardens, parks, and lakes in Boyana. They enjoyed an official programme with leading pop musicians in the evening. In his speech the president highlighted that Bulgaria needs more active young people and appealed to the youth to fight – not to be afraid when they make mistakes, because “these mistakes help us find not only ourselves but also valuable friends, who make us wiser and stronger and who become a ground of the road, which we want to go through”. The president wished the young people strengths, courage, and continuity so that they could make their dreams come true. Monitored Care Unit – Plovdiv was a partner under a project of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the Directorate “Labour Bureau”. As a result of the activities under this project Mitko was provided with a job in a leading furniture firm in Plovdiv. The successful cooperation with Plovdiv Municipality provided him with a community home. Lyuben Ivanov, Manager of CRSI and MCU - Plovdiv |
